Hormone Health
Women put an insane amount of pressure on ourselves to look and perform a certain “perfect” way.
These impossible standards create a great deal of chronic, low-grade stress, which often goes unrealized because it’s so commonplace in today’s world. In other words, we don’t even acknowledge the stress.
Nutrition for Hormone Balance
Hormones are involved in a number of key bodily processes related to our health. They exist in a delicate balance, with each hormone playing a specific role in the body. When hormone balance is disrupted, many aspects of health, such as libido, energy, metabolism, mood, sleep +digestion may become compromised.
Hormone imbalances can be caused by may factors, including stress, diet, medications, environmental toxins, poor sleep, + metabolism.
It can be overwhelming to know where to start when it comes to our hormone health. Typically, the only solution we ever learn to help with problems like reducing PMS symptoms, regulating our cycle, stopping hormonal acne and avoiding unwanted pregnancy is hormonal birth control, but in reality, we can have control over all of the above with certain lifestyle shifts that allow our bodies to become more balanced. Since 16 years old, I never had a normal menstrual cycle and have PCOS. I was actually put on birth control so that my period would start, and the bigger cause of the issue was never looked further into. It was only after my experience with cancer that I started really diving deeper into my health and learned how to naturally balance my hormones through nutrition, exercise and stress management practices.
Now, I’ve learned how to support my body through each phase of the menstrual cycle, naturally regulated my cycle and reduced PMS symptoms without any medication or synthetic hormones, and I’ve created this program to help you do the same.
Hormonal imbalance has been likened to the check engine light on your car’s dashboard. When it’s poppin’ off, you know something is amiss.
One of the first things to consider when there is thyroid dysfunction, period problems, or imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone is STRESS—both physical and mental. Simply put, the body will always prioritize survival over fertility. So if you’re in a chronic state of fight or flight, your hormones will take a hit.
